Due to the difficult terrain and elusive nature of their enemies, trained scouts were in high demand during Soviet operations in Afghanistan. This figure is inspired by elite reconnaissance operatives of Spetsnaz and VDV units.
As a result of their specialized training and independent tactics, these units were afforded a wide degree of flexibility with their equipment and uniforms. For concealment, the KLMK camouflage suit was a common choice. Above it, this figure sports the Poyas A + Poyas B system, one of the first Soviet tactical vests. On the back, he is equipped with an RD-54 backpack, bedroll, and a few canteens. To keep the sun away, the figure is complete with a Kalinin tropical hat and knockoff aviators, which were prized among Soviet troops.
